Joseph Thomas Bishop was first assistant lighthouse keeper at Point Iroquois in upper Michigan on Lake Superior from 9 Sep 1895 until 1 Sep 1896, approximately 10 miles from Brimley, MI. He was promoted to keeper 1 Sep 1896 until 17 Feb 1904. He had 2 assistants.1
